I have previously worked with the wonderful team at The Sociability of Sleep, where we explored the collective need for rest through research-creation. I presented at their graduate colloquium and helped with InSomnolence, an art exhibit and event series that took place in Montreal. I then became interested in legal cases where people invoked sleep disorders, as well as in research ethics, particularly when the research involves sleeping individuals. In addition to publishing a commentary on sleep medicine in the Canadian Journal of Bioethics, I presented on these topics at the International Association for Dream Studies and at the Canadian Sleep Society. I happily joined The Sleep Advocates in the hopes of linking data with lived experience. Together with the founder and CEO, Madhura Lotlikar, we published an editorial on sleep advocacy in Le Devoir, which was really well received. As authors and sleep advocates, we will keep on honouring the public’s sleep stories.
